• Tools & Equipment: Hand machine, foot machine, ordinary scissors, shears, marking chalk, thimble, hand needles, cruel needle, darning needle, hand needles. • Machinery: Balance wheel, disconnecting screw, stop motion screw, presser foot, presser foot lifter, needle plate, needle clamp screw, thread guide, presser bar screw, bobbin case, tension angle, shuttle, rubber ring. • Sewing Techniques: French curves, pencil & sharpener, tracing wheel,straight metre scale, paper scissors, fabric scissors, hip curve, triangle, scotch tape. Methods of Finishing: Introduction, objective, marking, precautions while laying out, margins, principle of lay out, finishing. • Measuring: Introduction, objective, using the inch- tape for measuring, measuring correctly, precautions while taking measurements, use of scale, sequence of taking measurements. Stitching: Introduction, objective, meaning of stitches, need for stitches, types use and method of marking stitches, decorative stitches.
